Lindsey + Ethan | Atlanta Backyard COVID Irish Wedding

Lindsey and Ethan didn’t plan to have a wedding in a pandemic. I mean, who could have predicted the end of the world with two words - MASKS. ON.

The Baker family really does care about every move though. Lindsey and Ethan found me after I shot her sister, Jessica’s wedding (who was a stranger to me at the time). Jessica became the only bridesmaid / maid of honor as well as Ethan having only one to stand next to him as well. The guest count went down and so did the size of their venue - from being an indoor wedding complex in Atlanta to Jessica’s East Atlanta Village backyard. Yay to sister of the year for being such a great host! You’d say YAY too if you saw how much hard work and happy tears she put into helpin’ a sista. Alright, I HAVE to show you these florals and their first look - I’m getting antsy now. But first let’s all say awwww for Jess helping Lindsey with absolutely everything.

Let’s give it up for Lindsey putting her color palette in the hand’s of her amazing planner - Candace (@smoothasbutterweddings - check ‘em out)! She really blew it out of the water with the bright blue and orange/yellow combo. I thought it was pretty amazing that the AirBnB as the getting ready location matched the colors totally on accident.

Mirror shots of getting ready are some of my fave through the day. Just some final adjustments before heading out. Bouquet, her unique ring, and old books in frame to bring out some character.

The tears from both mom and sis seeing Lindsey walk out the room came right away. I already saw it coming from everyone being emotional at Jess’s wedding so we all kinda laughed about it.

Sheesh - could there be a cooler place than renting out your favorite pub for your first look?
The most kind and Covid safe staff at Limerick Junction in the Highlands helped make this happen!

Backstage passes at an Irish pub include Ethan showing wifey how a good pour is done.
Did you know the term “honeymoon” comes from medieval times in Ireland where the couple would make a toast with goblets full of Meade for a whole month aka one moon cycle. Meade contains honey and is Ireland’s oldest drink. There you have it!

They shared their first drink together here where it all started. I gave them a few moments to themselves to have a drink and dwell on some good memories. Cheers! (Sponsor us, Guinness)

* insert ~ so a wedding party walks into a pub… ~ joke here *
The best man and maid of honor posed themselves behind there and we couldn’t stop laughing.
We played off the funny sitcom vibe if you can’t tell.

Next stop the pizza parlor, Osteria, next door where they used to work. Another special spot for them. We wanted to take some photos outside and didn’t realize they were still open. Surprise, surprise - old coworkers and boss come out to say hello! Their reaction to seeing them = priceless.

Pumpkins and candles - can you guess what month this was? I just want you to picture a cool Fall breeze, warm sun shining against your face, a fun reading from the Foundation Trilogy and small Irish family gathering in a spacious and perfectly lush backyard.

Smiles and tears in a photo set of three. I love the bottom left photo because Ethan is tearing up from looking at Lindsey walking down the aisle, her sister crying beside him, and guets in the background with masks on to show what year it is haha!

A Quaich ceremony is a Scottish/Irish tradition also known as drinking from the two handled loving cup. Drinking from the same cup shows your trust in one another and you two becoming one.

Including some of the happy and sweet moments that I thought were memorable from family/friends.

What’s a background gathering without plenty of games to play.

Ended the night with a sunset peaking through the trees in the neighborhood. Hoping to run into Lindsey or Jess again in the city after Covid life!
