The Loews | Foggy Winter Maternity at Factory Shoals - Alcovy River, GA
I was absolutely blown away by the luck on this shoot. This river fog happened to roll in on a warm winter day. Both of those combined for a maternity shoot in a black dress? Um, hello Morticia vibes.
The simplicity of them wanting to go barefoot near the flowing water and trek down what was a steep less-than-well-marked trail tells a lot about them. I’ve known Addye and Randy for awhile, though you’ve only seen Addye on my blog once before here for a portrait session. I’ve done countless ones for them by now: portraits, engagement, wedding, newlywed, boudoir, family, holiday, pregnancy announcement, this maternity session, and soon to be newborn coming up. I’m so happy to watch them and their family grow over these years and to have so much trust put into me for ideas. Feeling my clients becoming my friends warms my heart.
Side note: This location is right next to my old high school. It’s crazy to me that I used to hang here after classes and daydream of my future. Now I’m living my dream of having the coolest shoots.
For their gallery delivery, I sent photos also in black and white because I loved the look so much. Included some here.
This second photo still cracks me up because Randy was very much posing behind Addye and she had no idea
Every time I do a shoot near water I get the urge for long exposures. I usually don’t have the correct filters on me to be able to do it in the bright lighting I’m typically shooting in. This overcast weather was perfect and it was exactly what I envisioned for the photos to look like - smooth water.
Thank you for also freaking out with me when we first saw the location with it’s fog.
I FEEL SEEN
‘Til next time. I can’t wait to see Khan the Dog be a big brother.
