Sage + Dakin | Atlanta Loft In-Home Engagement
Sage and Dakin hired me for their summer Rhode Island wedding and I couldn’t be more stoked. After booking, they reached out about having an engagement session while I was in town in Atlanta. However, they had recently moved into their new loft and wanted to do it there. They had just arranged all their things but were still hesitant to have the shoot there due to maybe not having everything exactly in its place yet. I told them it would be the perfect idea and I think we should still do it. We all agreed and they invited me into their home!
Their pretty girl, Sadie, really just wanted to cuddle up. I don’t think anyone had a problem with that. Sage had mentioned that she hadn’t ever had photos taken before and needed to loosen up a bit to relax. As she poured some wine, they also snagged some of their favorite beer. They were telling me how surprised they were to find it at the store because it isn’t from Georgia! How cute is it that it reads “Hi, Neighbor” on the can.
Sage and Dakin are very much like me that I’ve come to find out. They love books, old records, and board games. Their loft is filled with them. When they brought out their Rummikub set, I literally screeched. This game was my childhood and still to this day is my favorite game of all time. I’ve played with my mother as far back as I can remember on really old tiles in a box that was falling apart. For this to be the first game they pulled out, just made me hug them. Board games in general are my favorite thing to do to have fun or to relax. Come home after a long day, put on comfy clothes, make hot chocolate or lemonade and play with my favorite people. This shoot really captured the feelings I wanted to express.
Choosing you was the easiest decision
Their love is so effortlessly filled with smiles. To me it seemed like their new place already felt like home. Abundant light and little things that were important to them like bikes, plants, and nesting dolls. Thank you for bringing me into your home and sharing time with me.
I can’t wait for Rhode Island and the beach with you two!
