Sage + Dakin | Jamestown, Rhode Island Jewish Filipino Backyard Wedding
This lovely couple have such big hearts. I previously blogged their in-home engagement sesh in Atlanta and already knew their wedding was going to be just as euphoric. Their style and sense of humor definitely matched mine. I felt at ease during my time in Jamestown, Rhode Island with them. From my Air Bnb having an old bike (cute front basket included) to ride through the beautiful June weather to visiting the beach where my favorite Wes Anderson film was shot, this was a trip for the books. It honestly was more of a summer vacation than work with how simple and smooth their wedding day went. THIS is how you do a backyard wedding. Thanks for it all, Sage and Dakin!
Sage’s mother hosted the wedding in the backyard of her newly renovated home. It was perfect for the guest size and minimal artistic look. While guests were arriving and bridal party upstairs getting ready, we had an intimate first look in the living room. It was quiet, full of light, and love.
Sage had an extra surprise up her sleeve (literally) for Dakin - an added cape. More capes on brides please because dang it looks good!
Two goofballs with all around laughter. The families enjoyed celebrating intertwined Jewish and Filipino traditions as Dakin’s father held the ceremony. The veil draped symbolized their union. The drinking of the wine symbolizes the cup of life - sharing experiences together.
Family and friends from all over came for this special day. Unfortunately, their dog Sadie had to stay home. They made a special drink to include Sadie in spirit. Check out our engagement shoot back on the blog to see actual photos of Sadie. For now - here’s Sadie’s Southern Shandy.
Tears, tears, and more tears brought to you by the maid of honor and best man.
ANNNDDD that’s a wrap! What a beautiful backyard venue to have these memories in. If you’re thinking about saving money or having a venue that is personal and intimate…10/10 recommend this!
