Amanda + Caleb | Snowy Elopement at Sapphire Point

As soon as this day started I knew it was going to be magic. Actually, rewind - when I first met them for their engagement session I knew it was going to be magic. From the start I found out that Amanda and Caleb are spontaneous and giggly. Dad jokes, dad jokes, and more dad jokes are all that filled the silences. They told me they planned their elopement to be only a couple of short months away from the engagement session. Both were a breeze and so laid back. I’ll have to blog their engagement sesh too for you to see the different environments we were in. Such a change from a desert engagement to falling snow in the mountains for their elopement. That’s the beauty of Colorado and they fully embraced it. You couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces if you tried. Believe me, Amanda’s mom tried.. The first thing her mom said when I saw her car stuck in the snow at the trailhead she said, “When you see Amanda, tell her I’m going to kill her.” That’s when I knew where Amanda got her sense of humor from.

Can we comment on the wardrobe please? LOVED the non-white dress and headpiece. Amanda said that Caleb always wears beanies so it was only fitting for him to have one for their big day. I think that is so reassuring because I know tons of people that feel more comfortable with the hats they love on.

What goes great on a snow day? All the coffee and blankets. They brought all the goods down the trail just for the guests.

Amanda and her mom are two peas-in-a-pod. Her mom walked her down the “aisle” and gave a speech of sweet words and prayers to start the ceremony.

Sometimes couples who elope don’t have any guests, sometimes there’s a few, sometimes there’s a whole crew (a rhyme, ayeee). Make your day how you want it to be!

I shoot at this location a LOT and this was easily the most beautiful I’ve seen it. I could be biased though because I love falling snow so much. The way it leaves blankets of white, the way fresh steps crunch beneath my feet. It just feels so romantic and perfect for a wedding day. Plus, the evening sun came out right after ceremony so we had the best of both worlds.

Officiant: Caleb, you may kiss your bride
Caleb and Amanda looked at each other and shook hands in front of everyone. Best moment.

After all the laughs, they went in for a brief second. I’m telling you, the quickest peck but I got it on camera, HA!

The shouts of “GOD IS SO GOOD” from Amanda and her family as the sun kept creeping out

Sorry Amanda but I had to include this photo. She kept rubbing her bare hands together from being so chilly because she refused to put a coat on for photos. But I gave her my gloves with hot hands inside them. I appreciated her effort but I insisted. She took the gloves with pure joy but clenched a fist around the hot hands with the finger parts dangling. Amanda started talking with her hands to the guests and her now husband. We should’ve just done the remainder of the shoot like this right?

This was the final view walking out of the trail. Remarkable and such a wonderful last glimpse.
