Sophie + Ben | Colorado Fall Aspen Engagement

It’s actually kind of cool how Sophie and I met. I was looking for a personal yoga teacher ever since the pandemic started (I quit the gym/classes). We found each other from postings on Facebook. She was also hoping for new clients and we agreed on photo trades for one-on-one classes! The photo trades were originally for her yoga business/social media. Sophie and I got to chatting and she told me that she was engaged and didn’t have a photographer yet. Um, hi - pick me! And so she did ;)

Fast forward to our shoot with Sophie, Ben, and their pup Marley. We were planning around Fall time anyway and I really wanted to shoot in those yellow Colorado aspen trees. They were already arranging their own camping trip so I had the idea of also having a camping trip but doing photos during that time as well. We drove down separately from Denver and met in Crested Butte because the peak there matched with both our schedules. Made sure there wasn’t a fire ban, grabbed wood and snacks, and headed to the campsite.

This is what we made on our stroll through the trees - one of the largest aspen groves in the world!
